What is ABBCareer?
ABBCareer is ABB's recruitment management system. This is the place to enter your CV/Resume and check the status of your job applications. Once you have entered you CV it will be available to all recruiters when searching for candidates for open positions.

Can I send my CV/Application as e-mail?
ABB's HR is organized decentralized and it is therefore not possible to process e-mail CVs or applications on a global level. We kindly ask you not to send any application mails to the global recruitment team. If you prefer to apply by another channel please contact the HR Professional for the job you are interested in.

How can I use ABBCareer?
Once your online-CV is completed in your ABBCareer it will be stored in ABB's CV Posting database. The database can be searched by certified HR professionals worldwide to fill open positions in ABB. When an HR professional thinks that you qualify for an available position, they will contact you directly using the email address you have entered in your CV.

You can also reuse your CV to actively apply to positions published on www.abb.com/careers. To do so, simply select "Apply" in a job ad you are interested in. You will be asked to log into the system. Then all the data you have entered into ABBCareer will automatically be entered into the application form, including any attachments you have entered

How do I get a password?
In order to get a password you need to register. On the second page of the registration form you will be able to select your username and password that you would like to use to log-in. You will be emailed your password and username after you successfully complete the registration. In case you forget your password, enter the login page where you will see a button called "Forgot your password" This will email you a new password to your email address.

Please note: You're new password will be sent to the e-mail you registered with - please contact eHR Technical Support in case this address has been deactivated; stating user name and old e-mail address.

How do I make a record in ABBCareer?
If you have never entered data into the ABBCareer system, you can do it two ways. First you can enter ABBCareer directly and enter the data. Or you could apply to a job, choose to log in, complete the application form and then save it all back to ABBCareer system. This will then take all your application data and create a record for you in ABBCareer. You will also receive an email informing you that the data has been stored and a link to easily reach it.



What is the Introduction Page?
From here you will always find the updated status of your Data and the actions you have performed. Use either the top and left menus to navigate or click on the icons in the table to jump to the section you would like to work on. Additionally, you can even change languages using the dropdown menu on the right margin.

What is My Profile?
This contains all the mandatory fields that you must enter to utilize the ABBCareer system.

How do I search for a job?
Look for the link in the Assistance section on the Introduction page. Just click the link and it will open the International job search page where you can find all jobs in ABB.

How do I print a job?
To print a job ad from the web, select the Print button in the bottom part of the window.

To Send a Job ad to a friend select the button at the bottom of the job ad. A new window will appear where you enter your name and your friends email address. Just click "send"

Can I use ABBCareer to apply for jobs?
Yes! If you have entered your data you can easily reuse it to apply for jobs. Simply go find the job ad you are interested to apply to then click the green "Apply" button. You will be asked to log into the system. Then all the data you have entered into ABBCareer will automatically be entered into the application form, including any attachments you have entered!

Can I save data from a job application back to ABBCareer?
When you log in and apply to a job, your data will be loaded into the application form. Then you will have the option to save any changes(including attachments) you make in the application form back to ABBCareer.

How do I track the jobs I applied for & the status of my application?
After you apply for a job, you can go to ABBCareer and find a section on the top menu called "Job Applications" where you will find a list of all the jobs you have applied for using this system. On the page you will see the HR persons name, job title, job ID number, a link to your application as well as the status of your application. In the status column you can see if your application is Incoming, Processing or Closed.

Please note: It can take up to one day before your data has been updated.

How can I add attachments?
When you are entering your data you will also have the option to upload 3 attachments. These can be anything from your picture to a reference letter or a paper you have written. These attachment can then be utilized when you are applying for jobs, just click apply, log in and the attachments will automatically come over. Please note that attachments cannot be larger than 1MB

Why can't I edit ABBCareer?
If you entered your data in to the system and then try to make a change to it immediately, you will get a message telling you the data was not found. This is because to edit your data that you entered it must be assigned a special number in the database. This number is assigned automatically after you enter your data and typically takes several hours for this to happen. Therefore please wait 4 hours before trying to update your data. If this doesn't work then please contact the eHR Technical Support.

Please note: Using a popup-blocker or firewall software might cause difficulties when entering your CV or applying for a job. If this is the case, please turn the program off for the time you are editing your record. For more information go to "Technical Requirements".

How does My CV look to recruiters?
To see exactly what your CV will look like for recruiters just click on one the preview button at the top of any of the pages in ABBCareer: . This will bring up a new window that will let you see your full CV.

Who can search the CV database?
When ABB's Group CV database was developed, security and privacy were top concerns. Therefore we developed a process to keep employees' data safe by allowing all certified users to access the CV database. To become a certified user:

1. an HR or line manager must agree to some standard ABB Group polices that were created with the CV database. These policies concern the proper handling of data, and employees.

2. Once they have accepted these policies, the HR or line manager submits a request to get access to the database.

3. This request is sent to the approver that is responsible for the CV database in that country (this person has been selected by the head of the country HR).

4. This approver can then either approve or reject the HR or Line managers request.

5. The system then gives access to any approved requests.

6. This certification only lasts one year so that we can ensure HR and line managers know the most up to date policies.
