2005-01-13 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology company, today celebrated the five-year anniversary of ABB Zhongshan Transformer Co., Ltd.
"We are currently expanding our capacity in the medium size transformer range in order to meet growing demand in the Chinese market," said Fred Samuelsson, General Manager, at a ceremony attended by government officials, customers and employees.
Situated close to the Zhongshan port in the heart of the Pearl River Delta, ABB Zhongshan Transformer Co., Ltd primarily serves utility customers in Southern and Western China, Hong Kong and Macau. The annual production output of the company is 12,000 MVA of power transformers.
Mr. Feng Yurong, Vice Mayor of Zhongshan, said ABB Zhongshan Transformer Co., Ltd was the first heavy industry factory in Zhongshan.
"In last five years, it has become a large contributor to the economic development of Zhongshan," said Mr. Feng Yurong. "We are very proud to have such a successful factory in Zhongshan."
Samuelsson said the factory uses the latest ABB design and manufacturing technologies, together with the skills of highly trained employees, to ensure high quality and excellent after-sales service.

Additionally, the repair and maintenance to transformers in the Guangdong Power Grid solved the long-lasting, historical problems in Fushan Luodong Substation and Huizhou Substation." said Mr. Lin Xiong, Chief Engineer of Guangdong Power Grid.
