2008-10-16 - For the past two years, ABB provided hands-on training of outdoor distribution equipment to NEPPA members.
The New England Public Power Association (NEPPA) is an organization of 79 Public Power Utilities throughout the Northeast (New England) territory. ABB’s Lake Mary, Florida and Greensboro, North Carolina Power Products Medium Voltage (PPMV) facilities have participated annually for the last two years providing hands on training and seminars with outdoor distribution equipment to NEPPA. This included presentations and product demonstrations to the NEPPA members.
This year, NEPPA presented ABB with the 2008 “Outstanding Affiliate Member” (Vendor of the Year) Award. NEPPA stated “ABB is one of NEPPA' s most outstanding associate members and provides an extraordinary level of support to our training programs.” Specifically, over the past several years, John Young, ABB sales representative with Primary Lines Inc., has brought ABB staff to put on classes for the NEPPA Substation Apprentice and Advanced Line workers programs, including the transportation of company equipment to our Pascoag training facility. John has attended these classes and has had significant interactions with the students in demonstrating equipment operation.
Thanks to John Young, and ABB’s Anthony Parrott, Charbel Saliba, Angel Carreras, and James Levine for making the customer feel they were dealing with a partner, not just a supplier.
