"ABB appreciates this opportunity to visit the elderly house. We strongly feel that we have grown into one part of the local community. " Veli-Matti said in the ceremony of the activity.
The elderly house is a government sponsored facility which hosts 200 elderly sick or solitary people.
ABB always attaches great importance to Social responsibility. After the tragic outbreak of SARS in 2003, ABB donated 500,000 RMB to Shanghai municipal government to fight against the disease. The company also practices other citizen's activities such as donating to cancer foundation and planting trees in this city.
This is the first time that ABB organized volunteers' visit to weaker people's community in Shanghai. We will take even more opportunities in the future to show ABB's social responsibility.
