Expanded production capacity and improved efficiency to reinforce ABB’s industry leadership
Xiamen, Fujian, October 23, 2008 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, today officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art factory for its two companies in the city, ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd. and ABB Xiamen Electrical Controlgear Co., Ltd. The new facility, covering an area of about 47,000 square meters in the Information and Photoelectricity Park of Xiamen, will further reinforce the two local companies’ industry leadership as ABB’s global manufacturing sites for medium voltage power products, and allow them to better address the growing demand for quality products in China and around the world.
ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd. and ABB Xiamen Electrical Controlgear Co., Ltd. have been successfully operating in Xiamen for many years. By jointly launching this new production facility, the two companies expect to double their production capacities and significantly improve their efficiency. In addition, the new facility is also home to ABB’s Financial and Accounting Center and ABB’s Information Technology System Center in China.
